Basilica to install ‘Homeless Jesus’ statue on its campus

The Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis has commissioned a cast of “Homeless Jesus,” a bronze sculpture of a life-sized Christ-figure sleeping in a blanket on a park bench. It will be installed on the Basilica campus Nov. 19, which Pope Francis has designated as the World Day of the Poor.

Local sacred art exhibit explores ‘a sense of the divine’

“Seeing God,” a juried exhibit of sacred art, opened Jan. 28 at the Benedictine Center at St. Paul’s Monastery in Maplewood. According to the center, the exhibit “features the works of local artists whose creative process captures a sense of the divine when seeing the world.”
