Interim President Yen Fasano said she was inspired and deeply grateful whether she was processing a five-figure or a $5 monetary gift for the St. Paul-based Catholic Services Appeal Foundation (CSAF) as it wound down this year to make way for the new Catholic Services Appeal of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Fresh from helping the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation focus its mission as it financially supports ministries across the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Tizoc Rosales is returning to the place he served for seven years prior to taking the helm at CSAF in 2021: The St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul.
Members of the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation Board of Directors play a vital role in shaping and furthering the foundation’s initiatives, said Tizoc Rosales, CSAF president.
Pat Regan and his wife, Mary, have been parishioners of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Hastings since 1980. As Pat recalls, their annual contributions to the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation may go back almost that far, 30 to 40 years. He and his wife served as “chair couple” for a couple of those years.
Ministries such as hospital chaplains, Latino, American Indian, evangelization, youth and pro-life work, helping meet the financial needs of seminarians and families sending their children to Catholic school, are all part of being the hands and feet of Jesus, Rosales said.

With its lease expiring in Plymouth and a desire to be more centrally located, the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation recently found a new home: The Archdiocesan Catholic Center in St. Paul, which houses many of the archdiocese’s offices and ministries.
The senior advancement officer at The Seminaries of St. Paul has been appointed as the first president of Plymouth-based Catholic Services Appeal Foundation, where he will lead CSAF’s annual appeal and partner with donors, parishes and ministry leaders to help ministries that serve the poor, support life and strengthen the faith.
