Catholic senior living and care organization St. Therese officially opened an addition of 64 senior apartment units at its Woodbury campus Nov. 21.
“A market analysis showed that more and more seniors, especially here in the Woodbury area, were in need of … housing that offered [not only] independent living, but also services within the community,” said Kay Schumacher, executive director of St. Therese of Woodbury.
Woodbury Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens and area Chamber of Commerce President Laurie Staiger joined St. Therese CEO and President Barb Rode for the Nov. 21 ribbon cutting and offered remarks. Retired priest Father Stephen O’Gara blessed the new senior apartment building, The Redwoods.
St. Therese of Woodbury has residences for assisted living, independent living and memory care. The Redwoods serves independent living residents. Fifty-five of the 64 units have already been filled.
The Redwoods will have a grand opening celebration 1-3 p.m. Dec. 1.
