Father Bruce Peterson will retire from active ministry on July 1. He has served St. Columbkill, Belle Creek and Holy Trinity, Goodhue since 1970 with St. Mary, Bellechester added as a third parish in 2002.

Father Peterson was born Nov. 2, 1930 in Minneapolis. He graduated from Southwest High School in 1948, and attended Nazareth Hall Prep­aratory Seminary in Roseville and St. Paul Seminary. He was ordained Feb. 17, 1957.

He also served as assistant pastor at St. Charles Boromeo in St. Anthony; Christ the King and Ascension in Minneapolis, and St. Joseph in Circle Pines.

All are invited to a retirement party for Father Peterson from 2 to 5 p.m. June 30 at the Goodhue Lions Building in Goodhue.
