Want to help hospital ministry in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis? How about campus ministry or prison ministry? Or meet needs in the Latino and Native American communities while making Catholic education more affordable for needy families, assisting the archdiocese in meeting the costs of forming seminarians and lending a hand to those facing unexpected pregnancies?
Interim President Yen Fasano said she was inspired and deeply grateful whether she was processing a five-figure or a $5 monetary gift for the St. Paul-based Catholic Services Appeal Foundation (CSAF) as it wound down this year to make way for the new Catholic Services Appeal of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Ministries such as hospital chaplains, Latino, American Indian, evangelization, youth and pro-life work, helping meet the financial needs of seminarians and families sending their children to Catholic school, are all part of being the hands and feet of Jesus, Rosales said.
At our pre-synod Prayer and Listening events, we have consistently heard that the growth of our Church depends upon our ability to give a clearer witness to the difference that Jesus has made in our lives, especially by imitating his sacrificial love and concern for those in need. Each year, the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation (CSAF) gives us a powerful opportunity to offer that witness by supporting the broader works of the Church undertaken in our archdiocese.
“If they’ve given in prior years, please come back and support us in our time of need,” said Greg Pulles, treasurer of the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation board of directors, of CSA donors. “We’re projecting 6,000 [donors] short, and that means we’re cutting funding to these ministries and they really desperately need these funds.”
This year, the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation is increasing both its fundraising goal and its impact, with the addition of another supported ministry. Rachel’s Vineyard, a ministry for men and women seeking post-abortive healing, is joining the other 17 ministries the annual appeal previously supported in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
