In reading Julie Pfitzinger’s excellent piece on today’s Catholic bookstores and the challenges they face [July 7], I may have given the impression that today’s youth do not read.
Having three college-age children, I know that is far from the case. The point I was trying to make is that today’s readers may be doing so more with technology versus paper, and because of that the hard copy of the book or periodical may not be their first choice.
As a result, book stores are obviously faced with the challenges of a shifting marketplace. I appreciate the good coverage by The Catholic Spirit and the continued support of the local book buyers.
