Priest wrongly pictured among those from list

Father Patrick James Ryan, an archdiocesan priest who retired in 2008, was wrongly pictured on the photo board Attorney Jeff Anderson, of Jeff Anderson & Associates PA, displayed during a Dec. 5 press conference in St. Paul.

Anderson’s press conference addressed a list of 33 priests with credible claims of sexual abuse of a minor against them.

A different Father Patrick Ryan was among those listed with an unsubstantiated claim against them. He was born in 1892, ordained in 1919 and died in 1965.

Sounds like a defamation of character case if I ever heard one.

And some news stations are still running it even after being told they are airing the wrong person. How humiliating and hurtful.

        Anything for ratings, right? :(

Fr. Patrick Ryan was my pastor for over 10 years. He is a humble, sincere, and good priest. Good example of the hate out there. He did not deserve this defamation. I suggest that the AD counter sue to slow up J. Anderson. Perhaps that would help to quiet down this nonsense and money grubbing greed.

Kal, I agree with your appreciation of Father Ryan. Attorney Anderson cares less about who he hurts including the children he uses to pursue his agenda of satisfying his greed of money.

Sloppy work by a sloppy attorney. His apology said “When told of the potential mistake”. Potential mistake? What in the hell is a real mistake. Is he not to be held to the same standard as those he sues. Father Ryan, please hire the best attorney and throw the book at him and feed the media with the same crap Anderson throws at innocent people. Justice being served.
