Joe Hall, whose story of courage and faith in the face of terminal cancer was featured in The Catholic Spirit, died this morning (March 27) at home surrounded by his family. He was 26.

Since the story was published, the disease progressed to the point where he was put in home hospice care days before he died. Yet, he continued to have conversations with family and friends, even telling jokes that illustrated his trademark humor.

The Hall family belongs to St. Joseph in West St. Paul. Joe is survived by his parents, Nick and Natalie, and siblings Sharon, Loretta, David and Nicholas.

The visitation for Hall will be March 31 at NET Ministries, 110 Crusader Ave. W., from 4-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. April 1 at St. Joseph in West St. Paul. Concelebrating the Mass will be Father Michael Creagan, pastor of St. Joseph, Bishop Andrew Cozzens, who once served with NET, Father Kevin Finnegan and Father Leonard Andrie, parochial vicar at St. Joseph.

For more information and reflections on Joe’s life visit his Facebook page and read a reflection by his longtime friend Peter DeMarais on the St. Paul’s Outreach website.
