Collection will help Cathedral to retire debt from emergency restorations

The Cathedral is home to the archbishop’s chair — the “cathedra” — and it is considered his official church. In 2009, it was designated as the National Shrine of the Apostle Paul by the Vatican and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Reilly will stay on as interim Catholic schools superintendent

At its Opening Leadership Meeting on Aug. 8, the chair of the Archdiocesan Catholic Schools Advisory Council announced that Jill Reilly will continue to serve as interim superintendent of Catholic schools through fall 2014. The previous superintendent, Marty Frauenheim, retired last year.
